From the first time I met Maggie I knew it was a match made in heaven for me! She walked up to me and said " I would really like to talk to you about doing our wedding." I then proceeded to ask her my 40 million questions about when, where and all that jazz :)... But the one thing that made it click was when Maggie said, " The theme of our wedding is after a song called January Wedding." I lit up like a light bulb and began bursting out the Avett Brother lyrics. Not many people understand my folk hippie soul but for the ones that do I stick to them like glue! Needless to say you see that I am now blogging their "January Wedding" some 15 months later.
I can't even explain how many details went into this homespun crafty wedding. Paper flowers covered the back wall of the sanctuary for the ceremony to the painted pinecones and all of the vintage furniture they brought in. For Wes though I think one of the coolest things was the board of Memphis Grizzly autographed pictures that Lisa ( Maggie's Mom) got for them. I mean really how cool is it when you have professional basketball players sending you well wishes for your wedding????!!!
Christina from The Transformation was a dream to work with. She literally transformed the girls with flawless makeup and hair. Maggie's dress had to be my favorite style of dresses that there is! It was a beautiful lace mermaid style gown from Promenade in Tuscumbia,Al.
Wes and Maggie shared their first look on her family's pier on the river a few minutes away from the church. There couldn't have been a more picturesque setting. Soon after everyone joined us and we finished up all the pictures before heading back to the church.
Everything couldnt have went more perfect. I feel blessed to have already had some awesome couples to start of my year and can't wait to see how much more fun this year has instore!!!

Lisa putman - Heather, You were the best last Jan making engagement pics in the spitting snow! The bridal session in courtland was a fun day (except for that awful bouquet I bought and maggie hated). But the wedding day could not have gone any better. I thought the time spent at the river was so much fUn and you got some really original photos there. I'm also so thankful for your second photographer, she got so many great shots of all the detailed diy, craftiness that my family gave their heart and soul to make, not to mention the hours and hours it took. You're the best, mama lisa
